Nutrition Week was celebrated in September at several villages. Programs included Nutrition Demonstrations, Cooking Competition, Group Discussion & talks in the local schools.
Government Appraisal Program: On September 4. 2009, under the leadership of Dr. Sharmishtha Patil, members of the Health & Education Team, Neeruben, Subhadraben and Manishaben participated in this program. It was conducted by GVHA (Gujarat Voluntary Health Association) for the Planning Commission of India.
SHG Workshop: A two day workshop was arranged for 29 Self Help Group (SHG) Women. Shri Himanshubhai Limbasia of Rajkot Training Center instructed them on making of various toiletry articles and candles.
Exhibition and sale of handicrafts and the household products made by the rural women was organized. Chief Guest – Dr. Leelaben Ramaiyya Guest of honor - Smt. Jyotiben Desai, President, Gandevi Nagar Palika.
Satellite Center: Gram Seva Trust is running a satellite center at Kudkas in Dang District for the last five years. We have been aware of a great need for more such centers to help these poor tribals in the deep interior villages. With the dedication and hard work of our team, a new center was inaugurated on October 11, 2009 in Mahal. A free diagnostic camp was organized on this occasion with support and generosity of Shanti Seva Prtishthan, Navsari. We plan to start two more centers in Dang in the near future.

Plastic Surgery Camp was organized at Gram Seva Trust campus with the cooperation of the Jivan Akshay Charitable Trust, Baroda. Dr. Arvind Patel and his team offered the services and Eighty patients benefited from this camp. Twenty two patients have been operated to date and 14 are awaiting surgery in the near future. This will now become an ongoing project as Dr. Arvind Patel has very kindly volunteered to visit on a weekly basis to care for these Gram Seva Hospital patients.
