The two day training program comprised of various Health Schemes with a special focus on Reproductive Health, Newborn care and prevention of STDs, HIV and AIDS at primary level.
Celebration of the world’s "No Tobacco Day" – May 31, 2009
Various Health Worker Groups, 300 community members from the surrounding villages and Gram Seva Trust Staff participated in a Rally. Local Political leaders supported the rally and some information to create awareness was shared by experts in the field.

Foundation Day celebration – June 6, 2009
Gram Seva Trust celebrated completion of their 15 years of community service.
Children of our Balawas (Children’s Shelter Home) and the staff members gave an entertaining performance. This was followed by dinner for all.
Eye Camp served 82 patients on that day with 30 of them reciving glasses and 20 were scheduled for Catarct Surgery. Forty four bottles of blood were collected through Blood Donation Drive.

Physiotherapy Camp: To increase the awareness of the importance of physiotherapy in rural areas, a joint effort by GST and Swayam Physiotherapy Voluntary Group was able to bring in Seventy one patients. They benefited through this camp and are being followed up on a regular basis.
RCH (Reproductive and Child Health) Workers Training:
Maternal and Newborn Care classes were conducted for 24 members from several villages.
Notebook Distribution:
Sakarlal Balabhai Charitable Trust of Ahmedabad donated 1536 notebooks for tribal children in 3 residential schools. |
