One more Tuition class has been added this month bringing the number to 13 classes. As the school drop rate is very high in our region due to poor education in the schools these coaching classes have been very successful.
 
‘Jivan Vidya Project’ (Health Education Project) has been started thanks to the sponsorship by Larson & Tobreau Construction Company,  
October 28th through 30th were dedicated to the hard work and skill of our rural women . 
A free Eye Clinic examines 100 patients

The Out Patient load this month reached 3390 & Inpatient work load was 377   
 
We now offer completely free Labor & Delivery services to all our patients in the general ward. 
 
Laboratory is well equipped for most of the basic investigations. We have acquired a Hemoglobin Electrophoresis Analyzer  to screen congenital anemias.

Community Empowerment

Holistic approach for the entire community:

An integrated approach to community development that combines inherently interconnected issues of economy, environment, literacy, health and local governance is adopted for progress and transformation.

  • Survey for Sickle Cell Anemia in certain vulnerable areas in Chikhali area
  • Night education programs at various villages.
  • Mid-day education sessions at various villages.

Women's Self-Help Group (SHG) project

    Groups consisting of 10 to 20 women are created.

    They are counseled regarding savings, financing and lending amongst the group (internal Lending) in times of need.

    They also meet to learn about various social and health related issues.

    Training for independent business opportunities:

    • Creation of traditional handicrafts, greeting cards etc.
    • Vermicompost – manufacture of organic fertilizer
    • Manufacture of Candles, Soap, Shampoo, Detergents.

    Data for the Year 2007 regarding the Self Help Groups:

    • Total Self Help Groups - 106; Total Members - 1121women.
    • Total Savings - Rs.2,584,287.00
    • Fifty six groups have been linked to banks for securing loans.
    • Total amount in Bank Loans - Rs.1,746,600.00.

We educate the communities regarding:

  • Maternal and children's health
  • Hygiene and sanitation
  • Importance of education
  • Employment opportunities and financial security
  • Freedom from misconceptions and superstitions
  • Management of addictions
  • Awareness in prevention and treatment of tuberculosis, gastroenteritis, respiratory infections, etc.

Alcohol and Tobacco De-addiction program:

We have established a seperate section at the campus to treat these addictions.
